Inspiring story of Mr Appanna Rambabu who is a teacher and a conservationist from Anakapalli District.

Mr Appanna Rambabu, a government school teacher turned conservationist from Chammachinta, has been working tirelessly to spread awareness about the importance of preserving our environment for the past seven years. He has distributed over 175,000 saplings and is working towards his ultimate goal of planting and growing 100,000 trees, with the belief that "one plant in a house makes the entire village a forest".

Rambabu has implemented this goal in villages through his concept "Intintiki mokka, oorantha vanam", and has also contributed 10% of his salary to his organization to support this cause. He has distributed saplings of various trees, including Teak, Neem, Sarugudu, and Eucalyptus, to villages and schools in the Narsipatnam division, and has also participated in government-introduced programs such as Jagananna Pachhatoranam and Vana Mahostavam.

Rambabu has also been actively working to educate villagers and students about the importance of environmental protection through awareness programs and rallies. He has participated in spreading awareness about the Disha app and the Swachh villages campaign, and has also held medical camps and provided free books and resources through Vikas Kendra to encourage students to pursue competitive exams.

Apart from environmental awareness, Rambabu has also educated people on health and spreads awareness on child marriage abolition, and water conservation. His work has been recognized with 8 awards from 2007 to 2022, including the Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishna Memorial Organization Award in 2019 and recognition from the then united Vishakapatnam District Collector.
